Smart BRC+ Concept

Optimize Your Yields with the SMART BRC+ Solutions

The SMART BRC+ concept
belongs to the “Yield Enhancement” category of structured products.
By combining a coupon-bearing bond component (the “Note”) with an
option on an underlying asset (typically an equity), this strategy offers a compelling
alternative to traditional fixed-income investments. It aims to generate
enhanced returns through an indirect and asymmetrical exposure to the equity
asset class.

An innovative, transparent, and rigorous yield enhancement approach via Barrier Reverse Convertible structured products available exclusively to Professional Clients and Qualified Investors. Our SMART BRC+ solutions are custom-structured to seamlessly integrate into your global asset allocation.  How Does a BRC Work?

A Barrier Reverse Convertible (BRC) is a financial instrument featuring a risk/return profile defined entirely at issuance.

The Coupon: The investor receives a fixed coupon (often significantly higher than traditional bond yields), paid out regardless of how the underlying market performs.

The Protection Barrier: A safety threshold (for instance, set at 70% or 80% of the stock’s initial price) is determined at inception.

Maturity Scenarios :

Favorable Scenario (Barrier Not Breached): If the underlying stock price never drops below or closes above the protection barrier at maturity (depending on whether it is an American or European barrier), the investor recovers 100% of their initial capital in addition to the collected coupons.

Bear Market Scenario (Barrier Breached): If the protection barrier is breached, the option is activated. While the investor still receives the guaranteed coupon, the capital is reimbursed in the form of the underlying shares. The investor consequently incurs a capital loss equivalent to the decline of the stock relative to its initial strike price.

A Quantitative and Disciplined Process to Mitigate Risk

A multi-factor methodology applied to a universe of premium international equities (Blue Chips).

The “Blue Chip” Selection Model : To construct our SMART BRC+ solutions, we apply a strict proprietary model combining quantitative, technical, and fundamental analysis.

Large-Cap Universe: Selection strictly focuses on major international companies with a market capitalization exceeding $5 billion at issuance and selected from the MSCI World indices.

Mean Reversion Strategy: We actively target stocks exhibiting short-term price deviations that stray significantly (between -1 and -2 standard deviations) from their long-term historical average. This model, rooted in statistical principles (Gaussian distributions) and volatility metrics such as Bollinger Bands, aims to identify a high probability of price stabilization or rebound

Portfolio Optimization & Diversification

To smooth out specific risks tied to individual issuers or sectors, the strategy relies on a rigorous asset allocation framework:  Continuous Diversification: Systematic distribution across geographic regions, sectors, and major currencies (CHF, EUR, USD, GBP).  Controlled Time Horizon: Short average maturities, typically ranging from 3 to 5 months, allowing for rapid reassessment and optimal responsiveness to market cycles.  Counterparty Selection: Diversification of issuer risk across multiple top-tier financial institutions (e.g., Julius Baer, Vontobel, BNP Paribas, Société Générale, BCV, ZKB, etc.).

Transparency, Benefits, and Regulatory Framework

Fully understanding the key benefits and the risk profile of your investments.

Key Advantages at a Glance

Upfront Transparency: Yield conditions (coupons) and exercise mechanisms (barriers) are fully locked in and known right from the product’s issuance.

Uncorrelated Complement: A yield enhancement solution designed to integrate seamlessly into a global asset allocation (such as a 60/40) without relying on leverage.

Secondary Market: BRCs benefit from daily liquidity provided by market makers, allowing for potential resale prior to the maturity date.

Understanding the Risks

While our quantitative process is engineered to minimize the probability of barrier breaches, investing in a BRC involves explicit risks that every investor must carefully evaluate.

Market Risk (Capital Loss): If the barrier is breached, the investor is fully exposed to the downside of the underlying equity delivered at maturity.

Credit Risk (Issuer Risk): Because structured products are debt obligations of the issuer, both the return of capital and coupon payments depend entirely on the financial solvency of the issuing institution.

Capped Gains: The maximum upside is strictly limited to the coupon amount defined at inception. The investor does not participate in any potential growth of the underlying stock beyond that framework.) may be exempt from direct income tax.

Why the SMART BRC+ Concept Appeals to UAE Investors

Investors in the UAE—whether managing High-Net-Worth Individual (HNWI) capital or multi-generational Family Offices—typically seek asset protection, currency diversification outside of the local real estate/MENA ecosystem, and predictable yields that outperform standard cash deposit.

For a UAE-centric portfolio, the SMART BRC+ is not a speculative tool, but an instrument of financial precision. It converts the volatility of premium global blue-chip equities into a highly predictable, structurally efficient income stream, all while providing deep buffer protection against market drawdowns. It is the ideal yield-generating complement to diversify away from heavy real estate or pure cash allocations.

Framing the Profitability Profile

Contractual Revenue and Asymmetric Upside: The profitability profile is distinct because the fixed coupon is predetermined at inception. This income is paid out unconditionally, provided the underlying asset does not breach its defensive barrier, regardless of whether the market moves sideways, slightly up, or moderately down.

Yield Enhancement Over Fixed Income: In a compressed yield environment, this approach serves as a powerful alternative to traditional corporate bonds. By capturing equity volatility premiums rather than buying the equities outright, it generates enhanced annualized coupons without direct downside equity exposure from day one.

The SMART BRC+ solutions aims to deliver regular, contractual income streams (coupons) that outperform traditional fixed-income yields, while embedding a significant safety cushion (protection barrier) against market downturns. Total maximum upside is strictly capped at the coupon level.”

The Strategic Fit in a Diversified Allocation

Integrating SMART BRC+ into a global balanced portfolio (e.g., 60/40 or institutional mandate) or selecting the concept as an independent strategy in a dedicated advisory mandate provides three fundamental structural advantages:

  1. Uncorrelated Performance Drivers. Unlike a traditional long-only equity fund that requires the market to rise to generate a profit, a BRC thrives on price stability and the monetization of market volatility. It significantly outperforms direct stock ownership in sideways (flat) or marginally bearish market environments.
  2. Broad Portfolio Volatility Dampener. By leveraging our quantitative Mean Reversion model, we exclusively select institutional-grade equities that have already experienced a short-term technical correction (-1 to -2 standard deviations from their long-term average). By layering a defensive protection barrier (typically 20% to 30% below this deflated entry price), the product acts as an asset stabilizer during broader equity market corrections.
  3. Dynamic Cash Management via Short Cycles. With ultra-short maturities ranging from 3 to 5 months, this strategy avoids tying up institutional capital for long periods. It allows allocators to velocity-manage cash, capture rapidly shifting volatility anomalies, and seamlessly reinvest capital plus coupons upon maturity.
